Role Overview
The successful candidate is responsible for ensuring the proper guidelines of workmanship and professionalism of all projects flowing through the shop. This person operates manual machines and plans, organizes, and controls their workflow in a timely manner while achieving quality and on-time delivery!
Duties and Responsibilities
- Performs machining setups and adjusts as required.
- Takes measurements of material and selects appropriate machines for the process.
- Interprets prints, work orders, engineering specifications, and designs sketches for operation, material, and dimensional requirements.
- Machining of stainless steel and plastics to food grade safety standards and tolerances.
- Regularly reviews work in progress and finish products to ensure accuracy, quality, and tolerance.
- Reviews production schedule and priorities to meet due dates and deadlines.
- Ensures processes, procedures, and print specifics are followed.
- Continuously learns new technical info to stay informed of changing technologies.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- 2-year trade school certificate w/1 year of related experience or 2+ years on the job experience in manual machining.
- Excellent coordination and mechanical skills.
- Ability to read prints/drawings and use standard measuring tools, like calipers and micrometers.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and safety.
- Solid verbal and written communication and the ability to work well with others.
- Ability to read, analyze, interpret, and comprehend all forms of written and/or verbal instructions.
- Ability to work in a team to support work capacity in a fast-paced environment.
- Maintain shop cleanliness, organization, tools, equipment, and overall general maintenance.
- Experience in fabrication, welding, equipment assembly, machine programming, and troubleshooting a plus!
Compensation
$22-26 per hour
