Role Overview

This position is responsible for the planning and overseeing of the production, maintenance, and quality assurance functions of the manufacturing shop. This individual will implement strategic ideas to improve the production and quality of goods while optimizing the utilization of labor and equipment throughout the production department. This individual will develop, implement, and drive production timelines across multiple production areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise daily machine/fabrication operations including scheduling, production and quality
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize production processes and procedures
  • Ensure all output is manufactured correctly, cost effective and timely meeting customer expectations
  • Lead and motivate a team of production staff to meet goals and deadlines
  • Collaborate with other departments to schedule production and coordinate resources
  • Monitor and analyze production data to identify areas for improvement
  • Design, build and utilize fixtures as required to produce production components
  • Support operation of multiple machines in unattended made to maximize productivity
  • Manage, improve and document operational systems, processes, and best practices
  • Oversee the transition of parts through manufacturing including quality, assembly, inventory and shipping
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a leadership role or equivalent in a manufacturing environment
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management abilities, with attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, part specs and material specs
  • Experience with machining of Stainless Steel, aluminum and plastics
  • Knowledge of TIG, MIG, torch welding, bead blasting and passivation
  • Familiarity with Lean or Six Sigma principles and continuous improvement methodologies is a plus
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and evolving work environment
  • Proven track record of successfully managing and developing teams, fostering a positive work culture, and driving operational excellence
